Wine tasting in Chianti Tour
Wine is sunlight, held together by water
Chianti is in very heart of Tuscany spanning the Provinces of Florence and Siena, and since 1300, the Gallo Nero (black rooster) has been the symbol of its fertile vineyards. It is the epitome of our image of Italy; the rolling hills, cypress trees, vineyards, medieval towns and stone farmhouses glowing in the rose tinted evening light.
A short drive south of Florence is all it takes to immerse yourself in this gentle beauty and discover the ancient art of wine making. Chianti Classico is one of the best wines to pair with food, it is synonymous of freshness, elegance and complexity and we shall be visiting medieval castles, homes to the most prestigious Tuscan wineries.
It will be possible to visit the vineyards and cellars and be introduced to the art of wine making by the members of the winery who will also offer you a selection of pecorino cheeses and other Tuscan delicacies to accompany the wine tasting.
There will also be time to visit a picturesque medieval hamlet on the way to the most entertaining lunch, hosted by master butcher, TV personality and restaurant owner Dario Cecchini in Panzano in Chianti. The menu is an ode to the "bistecca Fiorentina" rigorously cooked over a wood fire and eaten at a shared trestle table, brought to life by your eccentrically theatrical host! An experience you'll never forget.
On our way back to Florence we'll stop off at Greve in Chianti, the capital of the Chianti region, a busy market town, home to an internationally eclectic crowd and many more 'slow food' hotspots.
Full day excursion, hassle free with a licensed chauffeur.
