• FAQ's

    1. Will Virginia be our expert Florence tour guide?

Yes, absolutely! Virginia provides the very best in private tours and takes personal care of all her clients, with no exceptions.

    2. Do we need to make reservations for 'skip the line' tickets?

If you would like to prepay for your tour in advance using PayPal, we will make all the bookings for you, and include the reservation cost and entrance tickets within the final price. This means you can arrive on the day completely relaxed and comfortable in the knowledge that all arrangements have been made for a smooth and enjoyable tour.

If you would prefer to pay for the tour in cash on the day, you will need to make your own 'skip the line' reservations. Remember that it is best to visit the Uffizi early (8.15am or later in the day around 5pm) as the gallery closes at 6.30pm.

    3. Do 'skip the line' reservations always guarantee immediate entry?

Unfortunately not. Contrary to what many tour companies claim on their websites, at peak times 'skip the line' tickets do not guarantee immediate entry. This is because more and more visitors pre-book using this method, especially in the high season. However, these tickets can be advantageous, especially if you combine them with early morning, or late afternoon entry!

    4. Do we need to pay a deposit for our tour?

We don't take deposits. We either request cash payment in full on the day (euros), or for convenience you may prefer to pre-pay for your tour using PayPal (with a 4% service fee). Pre-payment can include the cost of 'skip the line' surcharges, gallery entrance fees, wine tasting etc, so there is nothing to pay on the day. PayPal is the world's foremost secure payment provider and we will provide you with a formal PayPal receipt/invoice on receipt of your funds.

    5. What is your cancellation policy if I pay in advance?

If you send a cancellation email more than 48 hours before the scheduled start of the tour you will be 100% refunded. If you cancel less than 48 hours prior to the tour you will not be refunded.

    6. Can I change the day of the tour?

Absolutely, travel arrangements can change and if you inform me at least a week before the start of the tour I will have the best opportunity to change the date for you.

    7. Where is the meeting point?

The meeting point will vary depending on which tour you are taking. You will receive an advance email specifying the exact spot and time.

    8. Are all the tours suitable for families with young children?

I do not recommend the Uffizi for very small children as it is often crowded and so is difficult for them to see the paintings. Otherwise I will make sure that your children enjoy themselves wherever we go.

    9. Is there a dress code for visiting churches?

Shoulders must be covered and shorts, or skirts should be knee length.

    10. Is it usual to tip the guide?

Tipping in Italy is not obligatory, so it is entirely up to your discretion.
